Tips for the preparation of oil samples

Important!
In order to achieve reliable measurement results, all devices, containers and tools that come into contact with the oil must be clean.

  1. Once the oil samples have been received by the laboratory, they must be left to stand in the room for approximately 24 hours in order for any bubbling to subside and for the oil to adjust to the room temperature.
  2. Protect the oil sample against moisture and solar radiation.
  3. Fill a sample container with some oil and rotate it in all directions so that the entire internal surface of the sample container is rinsed and there are no residues or particles adhering to it.
  4. Repeat this procedure twice more and dispose of the rinsing substance.
  5. Carefully fill the sample container to the brim with oil.
This prevents any air from affecting the measurement result.
